Alexander McFarland

Alexander is a first year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering specializing in Optics and Photonics. He received his undergraduate degree from Taylor University in May of 2022 in Mathematics and Computer Science. His current research is in the field of quantum transduction, where he seeks to develop efficient methods for transduction that can allow information to be practically transferred between qubit platforms. Alexander also hopes to work on projects that are multi-disciplinary during his time at Michigan, being interested in the fields of medicine and cryptography.
