Quantum Transduction

The creation of a global quantum network begins with the development of efficient information exchange between modalities associated with specific functionalities such as storage, detection, communication, and processing. Hence, efficient transduction of information between quantum modalities is key for implementation of a hybrid quantum information system (h-QIS). ExP lab investigates quantum transduction at the single quantum level involving complete transfer of wavefunction to a new basis without loss of fidelity. Photons and transmons are by far the leading contender for long distance communication and qubits respectively. Hence transduction of quantum states between photon and transmon is a key capability.
